The village of Ban Xieng Lek
Just under 2 miles from the centre of Luang Prabang, the village of ban Xieng Lek has specialised for many years in manufacturing and selling products made from silk and Saa Paper (paper made from the bark of the Mulberry Tree).

The village of Ban Phanom
A little more than a mile from The Phon Phau Temple, this small and very typical village exists mainly due to the manufacture of woven goods which they expose on the night market.
This village very quickly became one of the acknowledged suppliers of the King (at the time when the country was ruled by a King) who was said to have bought a large quantity.
